My Netbook Reflection.....

Intro: This year I am happy that I got an opportunity to work with an absolutely fun and enjoyable device(netbook). It is enjoyable because you can choose to go on multiple websites, but the purpose why we have the Laptops is because we are trying to strive to succeed and learn. We learn so much just surfing online and discovering new facts and places.

Plus: I like my netbook because it is useful with spelling and other things. Mainly it helped me with my writing because it is just giving me some strong vocabulary. It is better then going to a mate and asking if my sentence makes sense. A netbook has just made the whole school are whole lot easier.
Minus:The only thing that I don’t like is the problems of my netbook. Like sometimes my Laptop just friezes up on me. Sometimes my internet connection kicks off. By this I mean it Logs off automatically. It effects me because I can’t finish my work.
My Biggest Challenge: My biggest challenge is forgetting to charge my netbook. If I don’t remember to do this then I won’t have enough battery for the next day at school. I might get on detention. My other challenge is not being tempted to go on other websites during school time.
Conclusion: I thought that having a netbook was very enjoyable for learning. It is easier then using pencil and paper. I might miss my netbook when we have to put it away in the cabinet. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Kauwau Island!!!

Recently last Tuesday, the year six students went to a high standard camp at Kauwau Island.
We gathered up in the hall just organizing who were there ready to go. Have you....ever been to Kauwau Island? Well I can tell you, that it is just a load of fun and enjoyment. We went to Sand-spit and got on the fairy and went to Kauwau Island.
We got on the jetty and off loaded our bags on to the island and away we went. The year six campers went up a dangerous hill called the deadly hill at(least I thought that was called it). I was so tired hiking up the rugged hill, but in my head I said champions never give up. It was just so extreme that I was shouting out “gravity is just to strong”!
Well when we finished our tire ring hike we had a choice to play some sports our relax. The sports we played was volleyball, cricket, playing on the playground and many more. My stand out was swimming and all the other water sports. Oh and don't forget jumping off the pontoon, that was really really enjoyable man.
One of the activities were sailing. I might not be good at but hey I gave it a try. Have you ever been sailing? We went on a journey out far in the ocean just practising and getting the hang of it. And what do you know..... I get an award for it.
Leaving Kauwau was so sad. There is no place I rather be. But I miss my mums nice pork and gravy. I will miss you Kauwau!!!

The Ikale Tahi Team.

The wonderful captain from the Ikale Tahi Tongan team , Finau Maka is a hard working man and he inspires me. He is good at organising his spectacular team. The word Ikale means eagle and the word Tahi means the sea.
In the world Tonga is ranked 13th. Losing two games to Canada,20-25 and to All Blacks, 41-10. They only won one game to Japan, 31-18.
The Ikale Tahi team is from Nuku Alofa, the capital of Tonga. As the captain Finau Maka said, if they win the world cup little Nuku Alofa will be big Nuku Alofa. Have you ever been to Tonga?
I hope that Tonga wins the rugby world cup. Work hard work smart and try your best. GO TONGA!!!

My Typing certificate.

This is part of my typing progress, in my tutor time. I'm finish but I still have a little more work to do.

My MOST!!! Amazing Writing

So you must be wondering what is the sport badminton? Well let me tell you, that the sport badminton is very complex alright. I have to say that it is a game of timing your hit and it’s very similar to tennis. It is pretty famous to China.
Remember if you want to hit a good ball then you must hold the racket properly. How do you hold a racket you might ask? If your opponent, hits the shuttle witch is the light feather ball, To the opposite direction then you must do the thums down. Then you put it down on the side of the racket and swing. We call that the forehand.
Doing tricks a one of my favorite things in badminton. It is complicated, because you have to do some very funny stances to do some of the tricks. like the one when you have to swing the racket under your leg and many more.
Well I think that badminton is very exciting, skillful, and challenging. I hope that I become better and professional at it. Even though, I still have a long adventure to go before I even think about being a professional.

The Big Competition

Room18, along with the year 7’s and 8’s have this competition going in our school. Here are the rules! If you get a bin- it award from the assembly, you will earn 50 points for your class. The Principals award, which is the sticker that you get for sitting up in assembly, is equivalent to 10 points. These are some of the ways that we can earn points.
If my class wins the competition, I would like to go to Rainbows End! It has lots of fun rides like the fear fall, power surge, and a lot more, and even though I've been there before, I would love the opportunity to return.
On the day we find who the winning class is, I hope we don't get a nasty disasterous surprises don’t happen, because we might be the wining class. It might rain or be disaster’s. Or even we might lose.
If we won I would of be the happiest boy on earth. This will be the most enjoyable day of my life. I will be singing “Oh happy day”.
So there you have it that’s the big competition.

My Goals For This Drizzling Term

Hello,Malo e lelei my name is James and I am going to share with You my goals for this term.
one of them is coming to school early so I can know my assigned tasks. My other goal is to control my eyes when when the teacher is talking because I always get distracted.
one of my solutions to completing my goals. I could sit at a curtain area where I could focus
and make my eyes focus. I could stop the sideline chatter.
I need to wake up early and get changed. I need to walk to school to solve my turning up late problem. Have a good breakfast to keep me awake. I will try to make my goal work.
My basic math facts is something I need to work on as I’m not that confident at it. Every night I’ve been training so hard so I could be quick and brainy. But even though I have a long journeey to get there.

I hope that my goals turn out to be successful!!!!

Us vs Otara

As I was driving to my breath taking game against the mighty fearsome Otara, I was thinking to myself if I could just play hard enough I could get player of the day. My strategies were to run hard at them, tackle them in the right spot and just give it my all. Kick-back and enjoy my story.
Our game was about to start and the ref blew the whistle brrrrh! The first five from the team kicked, he chased after the ball as if he was a tiger chasing his prey down through the wild. He got the ball and got a try. Kingston stepped the second five and charged through the line of hard defense. He got us near the try line and before you knew it.....we got a penalty because the person from the other team didn’t roll away from the ruck. Potaua was near the try line and saw a deep gap and dived, “TRY!!!” our team said.
It was time for my magic conversion. I looked at the goal post and picked up the grass to read the wind. I kicked it....but never succeeded, it curved out and we lost.
I put my all in to it but never got player of the day, sadly in my head I said “maybe next time”.

The Good Times Ahhh!!

In the recent past, two weeks ago to be exact, we said goodbye to a wonderful group of caring students from Tamaki College. They willingly put aside their class time and worked with us. Our leaders were kind, even though we were not always on the right track. They encouraged us to do some hair-raising activities that challenged us to trust our team mates.
My favourite activity was the orienteering, because we had to search for letters and put them together to make a word. This helped us to learn our way around the college, making it the best activity out of all the sessions.
We played a tiring game of bullrush, and I’m quite sure that I lost more than a couple of kilos. I am one skinny dude now! This helped me prepare for athletics and cross country.
I wish we could of kept on working with these kind, hard working students.

You Better Believe Our, Bigger,Better,Stronger,Faster, Topic This Term

My ears were stuck to Mr Burt, tuned in to the announcement that he was about to proclaim. I was full of anticipation, and when I finally heard what our topic would be, I knew instantly that it was going to be exciting! The name of our topic…(drum roll please) is Bigger, Better, Stronger, and Faster.
So this is how all the hullabaloo began. After relaxing in the holidays, on the 2nd of May, all of our teachers dressed up crazy, trying to explain the schools new topic for this term. It will be fascinating because we will get to learn about advanced technology. I’ve got the feeling that I am going to have an extremely awesome term.

Defining My Honest Value

Do You know what honesty sounds like, looks like, and feels like? Well, you’re in luck I’m going to try and explain My Value, honesty.

Honesty is one of the nine values that Point England picked that were important to our learning. Honesty sounds means and sounds like you have to tell the truth and don’t lie or that won’t be fair to the person. people would be happy if told nothing but honest things. I think that HONESTY is most important value in Point England because you need to make people know about it if they like it or not.

Now I’m going to tell you what my value,HONESTY like. I think that my value looks like the truth to one another even though that person is going to get in a lot of trouble that’s what I think. If we tell the truth all the time and help each other then that maybe would be what HONESTY really looks like.
